Woah big suprises from Bungie at this year's e3. First announcement? Halo 3: ODST is coming to our Xbox 360s on September 22. What could be better? How about a beta invitation included in each copy of ODST? A beta invitation to what??
To this.
Bungie announces the next game in the main Halo series. Reach. Its obvious this game is based off the best selling book, Halo: Fall of Reach, and that is a very, very good thing.
But first, this holiday season it looks like Halo 3: ODST is fixing to dominate the market.
You get to play as a new hero, the 'Rookie', an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper. As this special forces marine you have access to all sorts of new weapons that weren't seen in the previous games. Set during the events of Halo 2, 'ODST' breathes new life into the Halo 3 engine, as you can see from the trailer. They've revamped it and it looks fantastic. Also included in this installment is 'Firefight' a 4 player co-op survival mode, which can be played online via Xbox LIVE or splitscreen on the same Xbox 360.
All in all, we can see that the gaming juggernaut that is Halo is very much alive and is fixing to once again shatter world records like Halo 2 and 3.
